Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts full of thanksgiving and praise, for You have given us to Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, so that we may have life and live in the abundance that is rooted and grounded, as well as in the promise of eternal hope. Human life needs light, and Christ is both life and light, illuminating our path. Human life needs warmth, and Your words warm our hearts. Now that we live in Christ, we dwell in both light and warmth.

The truth teaches us to rid ourselves of all evil desires and passions, not to seek glory for ourselves, but to live for the glory of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us. All that He has accomplished for us reveals the fullness of Your grace and the life-giving truth that is real and tangible. May we all be moved by this love to love others, to forgive debts, to pray for others, to promote peace, and to be eager to do good, becoming light and salt in this world.

We ask, Heavenly Father, that You also forgive our debts and help us not to accumulate new ones. May we set our minds on what concerns the Lord and reject what He despises, growing and maturing in every word that comes from Your mouth, becoming pure, radiant, and constant vessels, fit for the Master’s use.

As we are entering Winter, with the changing of seasons, may we recognize the wonders of Your creation. The four seasons are like human life—the tenderness of Spring, the vibrancy of Summer, the twilight of Autumn, and the slumber of Winter. May we who are in Christ experience abundance in every season, like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. May everything we do prosper.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for hearing our prayers. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!
