Prayer

Our Father in heaven,

May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven! May Your people revere You and walk according to Your will; for when we do so, You will surely dwell among us! The church is Your kingdom on earth, with Christ as its head, and the saved believers are Your people. That we are saved and become citizens of God’s kingdom is entirely by grace—no one can boast, nor should anyone exalt themselves. Our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, were driven out of the Garden of Eden because of their disobedience. If we still do not repent, we too will have no share in Your kingdom. We ask the Most High God to teach us to acknowledge our shame and transgressions, to truly repent and be renewed, to continually purify ourselves, and to no longer partake in worthless things. God, You examine the hearts of all and know who is sincere and who is hypocritical. Those who still live in sin may escape human eyes, but they cannot escape Your sight. We ask God to grant us a teachable heart, lest we be shut outside, weeping and gnashing our teeth forever. We also ask the Holy Spirit to guide the members of churches everywhere, that in all they do, they may act out of love and sincerity, testifying through good deeds that God is love, drawing all people to come, and building up faith and hope in love. May the doors of churches in every place remain open, welcoming strangers with joy, representing the Lord in treating them with kindness, striving wholeheartedly to proclaim the gospel, and becoming the light and salt of their communities.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
