Share what you know about the year you were born.

I was born in the year where 👇🏻

No global warming issue—four seasons were distinctive, operating within their respective zones.

No Internet to communicate—people communicated by pen and paper in short or long distance.

No Social Media to dominate relationship-building—people bridged on foot and by house visits.

No loss of consciousness to help—people acted according to conscience and kindness.

No virtual world—people lived in the real world.

No AI lovers—a love affair was between a real man and a real woman.

No “work from home”—people worked away from home.

Nowadays, things are moving a million times faster as things are getting done through the means of the constantly advancing technology.

People don’t say “Hi” nor address you by name before speaking to you on WhatsApp or WeChat.  In school or at workplace or even when neighbours bumping into each other in a lift in the morning, people don’t say “Good morning” any more, as this is not in the social media culture.

Whilst life is moving forward, I am somehow kind of missing the year when I was born and the years I was growing up, where no typhoon visited us in Winter, and Spring was most afresh, bringing new breath and new hope for a new year ahead all in order of the creation.

Nevertheless, there is still a proper time and procedure for every matter, though no one can tell what is to come. No one knows what the future will lie for each and every one of us. No matter how many years one may live, let him or her enjoy them all. Likewise, let everyone remember the days of darkness, for there will be many to come. Everything to come is meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 11:9, 12:13-14

“You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgement …….

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”
