Daily Prompt

Who are the biggest influences in your life?

Influences include both good and bad.

My mother has been my good influence since she passed her good DNA to me, and her influence brought me up into being a resilient and faithful person.

The Lord Jesus Christ has been my good influence since I was chosen in Him by God.  He is the Lord of my life, my way and my truth.  I bear witness to God’s promise (Psalm 1:1-3)👇🏻

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

All human beings are subject to influences by others, be they spiritual or physical, or be they good or bad influences.  We live in the world where environmental issues influence health, lifestyle, social behaviour etc..  Likewise, the social media/press influence public opinion, social harmony, and even migration.  Where anxiety, anger, frustration and worst of all—fear of death arise, people’s inner peace will be shattered.

Sin breaks individuals and families and brings the world into a broken state.  Sin makes people forget the good is good and the bad is bad.  The Lord Jesus Christ says, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold…” The wisdom of discernment is gone, and the moral courage is dying.

Come to the Lord Jesus Christ, all you are weary and burdened, and He will give you peace and rest. My blessed life bears witness to God’s guidance and providence as laid down in the Bible.

Psalm 119:98-105

“Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me.  How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!  I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
