Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?
In our daily life, we all have a role to play. Our role-play changes over time, status and location, say from a child of our parents to becoming a parent of our child, from being fed to becoming feeding others, and from home to being away from home.
Whichever roles we play, it all comes down to choosing our path from the beginning. Some do not have to choose as their parents choose for them, whilst others who choose their path cannot blame their parents if their dream-come-true roles result in a bad playtime.
In recent years, there has been a popular word among Chinese youngsters, called “Tǎng píng” (“lying flat”), which means choosing not to choose or choosing to do nothing more. Among many of these youngsters, their playtime is not real playtime as they have no real role to play, except playing their virtual roles in video games.
Life is fair as everyone has a chance to choose how to live his or her life. Life combines a great many choices, with good and bad playtime. The rule of thumb is that one’s right choice of path has great positive impact on life. Who can be the one to influence an individual’s choice of path? How then can anyone understand his own way or the way of another person?
Don’t we know a man’s steps are directed by the LORD? In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps (Proverbs 20:24; 16:9).
A person’s first right choice is to choose the way of the LORD, as there is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.
Would any one of us wish to claim the glory of our ages — the young by strength, and the old by the splendour of grey hair?
My choice, the first right choice of mine, is to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Under His providence, I play my role and enjoy my playtime day by day.

Proverbs 3:5-8
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”
