Daily Prompt

If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?

Technology runs faster than any freeways, but sin runs faster than technology.

Some five thousand years ago, the first sinning of Adam (the first man created by God) allowed sin to enter the world.  From then on, conscience is eroding, minds are corrupting; from lie to deceit, from jealousy to murder, from battle to war and just to name a few.  The big brother status of “righteousness” is gradually replaced by “wickedness”, resulting in all the imbalances in the world.  People are from loving to love to becoming loving to hate, from trusting others to becoming trusting no one.

About two thousand years ago, when the Son of God Jesus Christ began to preach, He urged people to repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near (Matthew 4:17).  In three years of His preaching, Jesus spread the good news (the gospel) and at the end of this three blood-and-sweat years sowing the seed of the gospel, Jesus completed the gospel on the cross.  Thereafter, His disciples have been carrying their own cross to follow Jesus in sowing the seed.

Without the sacrifice of others, you have yet to see and feel the real love; without seeing or hearing the real love, you don’t seek Jesus.  From two thousand years onwards, the sacrificial effort of evangelism and discipleship has demonstrated the love of Jesus and the love of Heavenly Father.

Faith is hope, and hope breeds love. Sowing the seed of the gospel through faith and love, we sow in tears but with the hope of reaping in joy.

Therefore, the Jesus’ followers do not follow the expressways, we drive on the freeway to eternity, hoping to bring others along as no other driveways, express or virtual, can bring people there.

For today’s “daily prompt” question, my answer is to tell the world—

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near!”

May my poems in other posts also ring the bell of repentance👇🏻

《Wind · Spirit》✨

Flowers bloom and wither, there is a time

Gains and losses in life, also have their time

Under the sun, there is a time

The wind chimes ring, yet cannot wake the slumbering

God’s judgement, there is a time

Lying in bed at night, the spirit moves, the soul wanders, the heart ponders

Those who seek mercy receive an answer

Those who delight in falsehood head towards ruin

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here

Those who pursue truth, call out and receive an answer

Those who seek falsehood, shall perish on the way

The wind ceases, the chimes fall silent, there is also a time

Oh dreamers of vanity, why slumber until death!

Psalm 126:5-6

“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, bringing his sheaves with him”.
