What snack would you eat right now?
Everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his or her toil. People live on food but for some less off people, snack is an extravagant treat. There is nothing better for people than to be happy and do good while they live.
John the Baptist, who prepared the way for the Lord Jesus Christ and made straight paths for Him, told the people of Israel, “Who has two tunics must share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food must do the same.”— Luke 3:11.
Three meals a day is normal for the better off, but a meal a day is luxurious for the poor. Those who enjoy snacks in addition to their daily three meals may find greater enjoyment to give their money for snack, if not for a meal, to others in need of food.
The Lord Jesus’ teachings frequently emphasise kindness, compassion and generosity towards others. Those people in the Lord shall not be in want. We are in the Lord so we shall share with other less off people what we get from Him.
Apart from food for body, the Lord Jesus raises us to a much higher level—“Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”—Matthew 4:4. Jesus also tells us His food is to do the will of Him (God the Father) who sent me and to finish His work (John 4:34).
Therefore, my snack right now and as always is my love for the poor.
