What makes a good leader?
There are many ideas about the quality of a leader, be they from someone who are in the leading position or from someone who expect to be led, or be they from the books to the books guiding those who want to lead or to be led.
A leader, obviously, requires leadership to lead in whatever position he or she is. There are, however, many of those who are in the position to lead lacking in leadership. Leadership is a conclusive word subject to test. In whatever contexts they may be, commonly agreeable qualities of a leader include, inter alias, having a vision and the ability to turn his vision into a mission, as well as having the ability to execute the mission through legitimate means and actions.
The classic example of leadership is from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. He did not lead by almighty power alone, He led by example. In His time as the son of man on the earth, He led numerous people to believe in Him and to follow Him. The Bible records over five hundred of His disciples who followed Jesus as their vision and carried their own cross to execute the great mission fearlessly. Over the past 2,000 years, Jesus’s followers increased in number, and those who were committed to the great mission and died for upholding their faith in Jesus increased in number, too.
Disciples require discipleship. Discipleship is the leadership passed down to them by the very first leader Jesus. Jesus’ divine power has given us everything we need in life through our knowledge of Him, from faith to vision, from vision to goodness, from goodness to lovingkindness to serve, from lovingkindness to perseverance, and from perseverance to unwavering commitment to serve Jesus Christ for the glory of God.
