Prayer

O God on High,

You have told humanity that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and those who do Your will are wise.  How blessed are those who sincerely confess their sins, repent, and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ!  May all who, under the covering of this grace, are saved and born-again, remain steadfast in Jesus Christ, become His witnesses, and manifest that Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—the life-giving Spirit, the Son of the living God.  May every soul who receives grace live in Your holy kingdom, see the Lord daily, do what pleases Him, bear much fruit, and store up treasures in heaven.

May we who offer this prayer not seek shallow, temporal things, but seek the purpose You have ordained for each of us.  Grant us the gifts we need to do the Lord’s work and help us to serve as His instruments.  We also pray that all believers hold fast to the word of Truth, cease sinning wilfully and no longer bear no fruit like the barren fig tree to be cut down.

O God, You are full of compassion and mercy; Your words overflow with tender care and love.  You have said You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.  May You no longer remember our transgressions, nor the repeated failures of all who sincerely confess and repent; for we know that apart from You, we have no good thing.

For the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ’s name, may those who have fallen be lifted up, the broken be restored, the weak be strengthened, and the lazy be disciplined.  And may those whose inner being is renewed day by day continue to be kept and guided on the path of Your kingdom.

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen!
