Daily Prompt

Do you need a break? From what?

From kindergarten minors to university undergrads, from workers to retired elders, we all need a break from the very busy schedules of our daily lives.  Students need a break from loads of school assignments; workers need a break from long working hours; and elders need a break from overwhelming social activities… Frequent or intense interactions with others will drain our energy, mental capacity and emotional well-being.  A break from these is a break from exhaustion.

A break from exhaustion keeps life going on the earth.  A break from eternal death gives us eternal life in a new heaven and a new earth.  Sin scars perfection from God’s creation.  Living in this broken world, we all fall short of the glory of God (Roman 3:23). Jesus comes to restore law and order, and to release His believers from the sting of eternal death (1 Corinthian 15:55-57).

This world needs a break from prides, lies and hurts. Tragedies and wars, we want no more. For fruit and peace, we shall not be in want any more.

Isaiah 65:17-25

“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more. Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere child; the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed… Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, and dust will be the serpent’s food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, says the Lord.”
