Daily Prompt

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

I used to read romantic stories in my teens, detective novels in my youth, and law and management journals/magazines related to my career.  I enjoyed reading them, just like other people did, for fun, and for want.

Reading into lives, real or imagined, is to enrich my experience/imagination through the knowledge and experience of others.  I have, however, outgrown my interest in reading novels/stories/journals.

Nowadays, I read and meditate on the Bible—God’s words to the world—every day.  I seek divine guidance and providence in life, mine and others, as it is in God’s sovereign power to guide and provide for all life.

God cares over all life, especially those seeking Him in satisfying both spiritual and physical needs. This guiding care provides comfort, stability and purpose, even during challenges.

Psalm 1:1-3

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

Psalm 119:105

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.“
