Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.
Live for today, not for yesterday.
Proceed forwards with the lessons learned or successes made in the past, but not lingering in the past.
Be grateful to those who formed part of your past, but do not indulge in it. Walk further to uncover more of your potential.
Many people like to say “in the old days” or “back in the day” where time was good…“Back in the day” is a common slang among the Chinese aged groups who like to boost about their abilities to overcome hardship in their old days. Those mouthing “back in the day” are normally the ones who are not happy with their present situation, or not happy with those young people seen to be weaker than they were.
With respect to myself, for the happy old days, I create more, but for the unhappy old days, I strive not to repeat them. Life is too short for anyone to dwell on the past. No one can change the history, not even God. Live for every “today” and turn it into another piece of beautiful jigsaw for your memoir.
What I do, and would like to encourage others to do, is to forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead, pressing on towards the goal to win the prize of life (Philippians 3:13-14).
