Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
We thank You for the salvation accomplished on the cross, so that all who are justified by faith may live by righteousness. You are the cornerstone of our faith, hope and love. From being lost to being found, we are now being built up in Christ as witnesses of the truth. Lord, You are the truth, the bread of life and the living water. When we eat the bread You give, we shall never hunger; when we drink the water You give, we shall never thirst. The bread You give makes us become the body of Christ, shining as light in the darkness, leading people to the Lord. The water You give becomes in us a spring welling up to eternal life. Lord, You also said that whoever eats Your flesh and drinks Your blood remains in You and You in them. Grant us Your flesh and blood, we pray, so that we may remain in You, and You in us. We who are born again in Christ Jesus now have the grace to walk on the path of righteousness and eternal peace. We pray for the grace of salvation upon Christian households, including our own families, that they may also have a place in the kingdom of Christ. We know there is a time for everything under heaven, and a season for every matter. All that happens in this world is meant to inspire reverence for God. May our families see and hear what is happening in the world, recognising it as a call to revere God and to repent and turn back to Him. As the new year begins, we witness conflicts between nations, causing many casualties and broken families—this brings deep sorrow. May our prayers for the families of believers in the midst of war rise to You and be heard. Grant them grace and mercy, so that the helpless may find help, the hopeless may find hope, and the grieving may find comfort. May they, under the shelter of Your grace, pass through these difficult days in peace. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
