What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
Every person with a common sense must have at least one question, either personal or official, he or she does not like to be asked about.
I quote a few examples. In the mainland China, a man who owns no property does not like to be asked “Do you have a property?” by a matchmaker; an elderly person who is abandoned by his or her own child and lives in poverty does not like to be asked “Do you have children?”; a man who is ashamed of his low income hates the question of “How much do you earn every month?”; and many women who love beauty do not like to reveal their age. Questions which touch on official secret or trade secret are not welcome at all.
What is then the question I do not like to be asked? I do not like to be asked any cheesy pick-up lines or “canned” lines. Meaningless questions waste time and waste life.
On the other hand, I like all meaningful questions, such as those, inter alia, helping a child to grow and develop, stimulating a young person at loss to find his or her way, and helping the sick to go through suffering in peace. Meaningful questions act as a guiding light during times of hardship, shifting focus from a victim mindset to an empowered, growth-oriented perspective.
There is one question that people though hate to ask themselves often ask is “Why is this happening to me?” This could be a meaningless or a meaningful question, depending on how to address it. If this is an air of grievance, it will not help improve the situation; but if it is a soul searching one, it will be an awakening call (Mathews 7:7).
Though I do not like meaningless questions, I may turn meaningless into meaningful with the help of the indwelling Spirit. We all have the ability to help ourselves and others to turn negativity into positivity. Let’s start with our meaningful questions to help transform adversity into opportunities for growth, self-reflection and resilience. I see that a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit, but the tongue that brings healing is a tree of life.

Matthew 7:7-11
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
