Where would you go on a shopping spree?
Normally, people buy what they need, but there are also many of those who buy what they want not need.
Going on a shopping spree may provide a momentary satisfaction but often entail excessive or reckless spending, wasting money and wasting resources. While often seen as a fun , it may lead to habitual overspending, resulting in heavy debts.
I buy, too, but I ‘buy’ wisdom, not on a shopping spree but on my constant pursuits during the journey of faith. I buy on a ‘need and want’ basis, treating wisdom as a top priority that is worth more than material wealth or satisfaction. The more I invest my effort, time and resources into gaining understanding the truth, the more I grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ. Wisdom is not a literal commodity but a lifelong and priceless possession, obtainable from God (James 1:5).
People are buying gold like crazy, for profit-making or for securing their wealth, due to the current conflicts between nations. I advise people to acquire wisdom as it is supreme to gold (Proverbs 16:16). Those who seek security and peace buy wisdom than gold. While gold is fleeting, wisdom provides enduring benefits, guiding decisions, protecting one’s life, and offering eternal value.

Proverbs 23:23
“Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding”
Job 28:15-18
“It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed out in silver. It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, with precious onyx or lapis lazuli. Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can it be had for jewels of gold. Coral and jasper are not worthy of mention; the price of wisdom is beyond rubies.”
James 1:5-6
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”
