Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.
Prophet Moses lived up to 120 years old, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone (Deuteronomy 34:7). I pray God for my strength and strong eyes, too, in my senior years.
Joshua at his 80, he was anointed by God to take over from Moses in leading the Israelites into the promised land, and he succeeded under the flag of the LORD. Joshua died at 110 years old, but his legacy was never gone (Joshua 24:28-31). I pray God for my unwavering faithfulness and steadfastness to Him till I die.
In the end time, the Lord Jesus Christ came to the world to call people to repent. None of His 12 disciples (later called the 12 apostles) could live up to 100 years old, but John was the exception. John at the age approaching 100 years wrote down the messages related to the gospel in the Book of John and the Book of Revelation. These two sacred books announce the Way, the Truth and the Life to the earthly people. Both books connect believers with the Lord from head to toe, and from soul to spirit.
I imagine at the 100th birthday of mine, I would write to God as if I wrote to myself inside whom Christ lives. I would announce that God is faithful, for He has always been to me, and to those who believe in Him. God guides and provides far exceeding my expectations and desires. Now, at the year of my 100, I can still see clearly, I can still think wisely, and I can still write with my strong hands to give thanks and praise to God, my Heavenly Father. My soul glorifies God and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for His love and grace, for my piety and righteousness in Him, and for His unwavering faithfulness to me.
Back to the present time from my imagined years, I will continue to proclaim the name of God and praise the greatest of our God! He is the Rock, His works are perfect, all His ways are just, and His name is holy. Our faithful God is upright and just, kind and merciful, and the Wellspring of Life!
I pray that in my remaining years on the earth, I continue to serve the Lord in His righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Amen!
