What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

TV often replays movies or shows unstoppable series.  Why?  Apart from the reason of cost cutting, there is a collective need from the audience.

Watching a movie five times reflects that the movie resonates with the audience’s own experience or feelings.  If a TV series survives endlessly, it will mean that the series captures the hearts and minds of the audience.  TV series is a strong indicator to measure social mentality or predict public sentiment on government policies.  Movie or TV series producers are clever enough to capture audience desires or society concerns and write them into movies/TV series which resonate with the public.

I know of someone who watched a drama five times because the drama resonated with her life experience.  I watched the same drama one time.  While the drama struck a chord with me, too, I did not watch it again, for when there are more joyful memories, there are more painful ones, too.

We like to watch movies—the stories of other people’s lives (based on real facts or imaginary figures), for they resonate with us or fill our emptiness.  Indeed in life, we are actors in ourselves.  While we are watching others to live their lives, others are watching us, too.

Christians are mindful of the fact that God has made us a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings (1 Corinthians 4:9).  Our play is significant and therefore should be impeccable, for we serve as witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 4:9

“For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.”
