What activities do you lose yourself in?
Failing to plan is planning to fail. Every person does have to plan how they live. I live faithfully as witness to the light of life and guide others to the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Living involves activities, and activities engaged in pronouncing and proving God is love are the best of all living activities. I lose myself in engaging in such activities, but not at loss of what I am doing.
Losing myself in preaching the gospel is deeply linked to what the Lord Jesus has taught us——those who try to save their lives will lose them, but those who lose their lives for the sake of Christ and the Gospel will save them.
Based on Matthew 16:24-25, this involves denying oneself and following Jesus, which can lead to suffering, shame, or persecution for his name. It means letting go of ego-driven goals to let the “true self” emerge, as described in Romans 12:2, where believers are transformed rather than conformed to the world.
Those who lose themselves in the Gospel often experience a profound transformation of their priorities, viewing their life not as their own, but as an instrument for God’s glory, leading to a “living sermon” of surrender.
