You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?
People have different preferences in almost everything. Today’s daily prompt asks people to show their preferences on a new topic. Daily prompt prompts for direct answers, which bloggers normally give. Today’s, yesterday’s and indeed everyday since I was on the game, prompts me to think and draw pictures people are too busy to wander about.
Living in a fast-moving world, time is money, and what seems to be fast is smart and clever among the chase. Preferences come from desire, energy, time and money, if not more. From the most expensive aeroplane to the cheapest bike, one’s choice is made by another choice (time), and another (energy), and again another (desire). Again, age also affects one’s desire— young and energetic one may like the challenge of biking across the country, even from country to country, while the elderly want to see the world in the most comfortable way. All of these reflect the fact that life is about making choices—“what” I like to do and “how” I like to do it. Life journey begins at the age when one can choose for himself or herself.
When I was about 10 or 11 years old, I often dreamt of flying, not by aeroplane but by myself. I flew high across the skies to view those below and with this superpower, I helped the weak and beat the criminals like the legendary Superman.
At my age now, I choose to share the good news with people across the globe via my blogs—no longer for me to fly, by plane or by self. The apostles, Paul in particular to mention in the Book of Acts, walked hundreds of miles, crossing the continents by foot and by ship, to spread the gospel and build churches. His preferences were never his but the Lord’s, because he knew the Lord’s were the best of all.
At the advent of technology, we can do things at a speed like a rocket’s speed, and by various efficient channels. Life is about making choices, but when there are too many for us to choose, do we or can we make the right choice?
Life is amazing, and when one’s will is clear, his or her way is clear. I have tied my will with the Lord Jesus, who is the One to guide my way. God guides the way, I bear witness to the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit works in people’s hearts. I say the most amazing thing in life is to share God’s most amazing grace.
“The Road” ✨
Roads like tigers’ mouths—
Man’s path, a wilderness way.
Let every road be clear,
A bright lamp guides the way.
Dewfall quenches thirst in drought,
Manna sustains each day.
Whether man’s path or wilderness road,
I long for a smooth, open plain.
