What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?
People have tattoos ingrained into or printed on their bodies for various reasons, including tribal customs, religious rituals, or seasonal trends etc .
Across the continents, there are those who want to showcase their identity of a kind, signify their love to specific persons, or just plainly follow the fashion of a time. I also know of some men who, when reaching the age of 60, print tattoos on their bodies to signify that they are not beaten by their old age.
In the Old Testament, the law specifically bans tattoos (Leviticus 19:28), as they are associated with idolatry.
The command of keeping ourselves holy carries on into the New Testament. It specifically states that a Christian’s body is a a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). They are sealed with the Holy Spirit, recognised by the Lord Christ Jesus, and granted a deposit in our hearts (Ephesians 1:13-14; Timothy 2:19; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22). The Scriptural emphasis on our holiness is loud and clear, and therefore Christians should honour God with their bodies.
On the other hand, there is a mark of the beast that we are warned against. It is the mark on the right hand or forehead required to buy or sell, signifying allegiance to the Beast (Revelation 13:16-18).
The Lord Jesus’ salvation opens the way to eternal life, and those blessed with the divine seal should honour their seal by honouring God.
Thanks and praise and glory be to God, for I am one of those with the divine seal bestowed upon me!
