Daily Prompt

What’s something most people don’t understand?

There are many things which people do not understand; likewise, there are many things which people do not want to understand.  There are also others who think they understand but do not really understand. Among all the apparent understandings, misunderstandings, and the refusals to understand and accept, is the divine truth.

The truth tells us that love is not lust; tolerance does not equal condonation; faith does not relate to idolatry; and saints are not of the flesh but of the Spirit of God.  While knowing love of the flesh is temporary or short-lived, condonation is the seeds of greed leading to repeated sinning, and faith is nothing but the Spirit and the Truth; the worldly people continue to pursue short-lived happiness, ending in vanity.

There is a time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot.  A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his or her work.  Without God, who can live and find enjoyment in life, and who despises hate but loves those unworthy of love?  The one who pleases God gets wisdom, knowledge and understanding from Him, whereas to the sinner God gives the task of gathering wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.

Although no one can claim to understand it all, within the light enshrined in the Bible, and the living testimony of Jesus, we know and believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of the living God.  He is the Way and the Truth and the Life.  No one comes to God the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

We understand the Truth because of Jesus; we walk the Way because of Jesus; and we taste what love really means because of the sacrificial love Jesus has demonstrated.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding (Proverbs 9:10).
