Daily Prompt

How would you improve your community?

Before I address today’s daily prompt question, I wish you all a happy Easter holiday ! You may join me in my prayer to God under the homepage—Prayer.

Today’s question is a big question—a question for a policy decision which requires meticulous deliberation and planning.

I may, however, approach the question by following the rule of thumb—doing everything in spirit and in truth. Making improvements, whether small or large, comes down to a four-pronged approach, namely—

1. To do better what has already been done quite well.

2. To rectify what has been done badly.

3. To discard what is no longer needed.

4. To introduce something new and relevant as the way forward.

The core values applied to all dealings are “love” and “integrity”. Whatever we do, we do it for love and within the bounds of integrity.

“Savouring the Egg Waffle” ~ ✨

A child saw an egg waffle stand,

And told his mom he’d never tried.

Mom frowned, and did not say a word,

While her little son cried and cried.

“I really want to have one, please!”

But Mom said, “We have meals to make—

One waffle costs what three meals need.”

The child wept for the waffle’s sake.

He sobbed aloud before his mom,

Whose heart then broke, tears filled her eyes.

Then suddenly: “Go take and eat!”

Who was the neighbour, good and wise?

The watching customers? Not them.

It was the waffle seller, true—

The poor in wealth, yet rich in grace;

The rich have means, but warmth are few.

Who shows compassion to the poor?

True neighbour loves—that’s mercy’s law.

Matthew 5:7

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Luke 10:27

The Lord Jesus says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbour as yourself.”
