Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus Christ,

Once again we come to the annual Easter season, where churches everywhere hold gatherings to remember the redemptive grace You accomplished on the cross.  We thank You, Christ, for becoming incarnate as the Son of Man, dying in the place of sinners, and that God raised You from the dead for our justification.  Whenever we remember Jesus’ resurrection, we also remember our own resurrection.  May all believers keep in their hearts the spiritual meaning of dying, being buried, and rising again with Jesus.

You, Lord, have been exalted to sit at the right hand of the Heavenly Father, overseeing all the earth.  May we live up to Your trust and calling, coming together as the light and salt of the world, making disciples of all nations.  Grant us strength to walk in God’s righteousness and peace, and to serve Christ with the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit.

We do this in remembrance of You—You died so that sinners might live; You rose so that the repentant might receive eternal life.  May we who are born again truly live out the new creation within Christ, becoming children well-pleasing to God on earth, beloved disciples of Christ, drawing all people to the Lord.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen!
