What Olympic sports do you enjoy watching the most?
The Olympic Games serve as a profound symbol of worldwide friendship, unity, and peace among the five inhabited continents, namely, Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. The Games aim to bring together athletes from around the world to compete through sports in a spirit of solidarity, transcending geographical, political, and cultural boundaries. Friendship, excellence, and respect are the three core Olympic values, with the common goal of promoting understanding, solidarity, and peace.
Olympic athletes serve their country’s honour by dedicating years to training and competing, aiming to embody national pride and the core values of excellence, respect, and friendship on the world stage. While they aim to represent their nation, their efforts often symbolize dedication to humanity and a pursuit of personal bests.
I have high regard for those highly dedicated people and efforts in fostering understanding, friendship, and world peace. The performance of any game and any athlete is worthy of respect to me, for any effort to promote and sustain peace is respectable.
Nevertheless, the heart has two sides. While the one side is peace-loving, the other is warlike. Whether a friendship game or a destructive war, or whether sweating or shedding blood—which is to choose, and who is to decide? If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you (Proverb 9:12). People choose the wise to rule and govern, yet they have to be wise enough to choose the wise. Who can make you wise? The Bible tells the world that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and that all who follow His precepts have good understanding (Psalm 111:10). Not only in words—the Son of God, Jesus Christ Himself, actually came to free the world from foolishness, yet the world has not understood (John 1:5).
