What job would you do for free?
Some employees do nothing but engage in foul play with their paid jobs, whilst some volunteers do everything for free—including emptying their own pockets. Whether one has a kind heart or a vindictive one depends on the play of destiny: the DNA we’re born with, combined with the character developed through post-birth influences.
Character determines one’s destiny, and one’s destiny can take life in all directions. Who is the one so willing to do it for free?
Yesterday, I spoke about seeking wisdom from God, for understanding of life grows from wisdom. The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin (Proverbs 10:8). Embracing wisdom leads to the transformation of life into the likeness of Jesus Christ, because Christ is Wisdom. What greater honour could there be than serving the Lord Christ, who is everything and in everything?
Blessed are those who bless others. Having the heart to do everything for free, including giving away one’s own wealth, comes from the demonstrable love of Jesus, who died for loving the world (John 3:16).
People who act in grace must be those who have tasted the grace of God. Believers who answer the calling of God will be given the gift of the Holy Spirit to serve. The more you give away, the more gifts of grace will be given to you; the more you do it for love, the greater reward you will receive.
God is the only Sovereign power to guide and provide for all mankind. I am blessed to be called to serve the Lord. I do it for free, for I have received salvation for free.
