Daily Prompt

What is your career plan?

Having a career plan is a privilege—not everyone can plan their careers or see their plans executed.  I have seen many people who hated their careers yet couldn’t imagine life without them—trapped in their dreams, they became miserable.

While failing to plan is planning to fail, planning without foresight, clear goals, knowledge, and the wisdom to apply it makes planning meaningless.  I often teach my students to plan early, for if they start and follow through on their study plans, they may be more able to pave the way for their future careers.

Take me for example—retirement from a 35-year-long career.  Before I began it, I had already decided it would be my lifelong work, even though it was one of the toughest jobs of that era.  The success factors were a clear goal, unwavering commitment, and the moral courage aligned with my faith in Christ.

Today, I follow God’s plan to serve those in need—as a volunteer mentor for teenagers, a volunteer chaplain for hospital patients, and a volunteer writer sharing the gospel: the love and grace of the living God.  I can do all these things joyfully because I firmly believe that all things work together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

Who is your “Boss”?  When you find your “Boss”, you will find your career’s true direction.  May my poem and this scripture spark new energy for your career plan.

…….

“Small is the Boss” ~ ✨

Your desire precedes your success—

Yet do not waste your time on unwanted wants.

All big things start with a small thing.

Big talent is for big use—

Big talent starts from small.

A successful boxer starts with the training sacks.

Chasing dreams in your dream is like boxing in the air,

bringing you to nowhere.

All successes proceed with a difficult start—

The first obstacle to overcome is yourself.

Proverbs 16:3

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
