Daily Prompt

What is the legacy you want to leave behind?

With a cry, I entered the world.  Soft whispers held me in my mother’s arms.  In hurried nights, I grew, was weaned from milk, and learned to walk.

Parents hope their child will shine; all long for greatness in their own.  Yet love, I see, is laced with expectation.  Embroidered robes—what the world seeks—but I would call freedom my friend.

Many turn to the world; the wise turn to the Spirit.  I shed my robes to seek what is right.  Perfection is found in freedom alone—freedom from sinning.  With a clean and pure heart, I rest in eternity.

I hope that my legacy—shared gospel messages and personal testimonies—will continue to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  I want to leave love, not hate, to those who mention my name and see me in Christ, not in my body—a symbol of faith, hope, and love.

May my poem instill in you a keen pursuit to be love, not hate, on earth👇🏻

“Love, Not Hate” ~✨

Hate can plunge one into endless night

Love can cover every wrong

Hate keeps man dwelling in darkness

Love draws him from shadow into light

The seven passions, the six desires—easily caught in sin’s snare

Yet love releases one from the snares of lust

Man’s joy, woman’s love—not free from envy’s grip

But to lay down one’s life for a friend—this alone is selfless

Lust comes and goes in haste

Love alone will never cease

1 Corinthians 13:12-13

[12] For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.  Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

[13] And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
