What are you good at?
Everyone has something they are good at, and likewise, something they are bad in. While counting your good, you must not ignore your bad – having the ability to change from bad to good is itself a good thing.
Everything works for the good of mankind: doctors treat patients, and patients pay doctors; farmers produce food to feed people, and people support farmers by buying their produce; parents bring up their children and expect to be looked after in return one day. Like these roles, my good also serves a purpose for the good of others.
I recognise my good and bad sides. My GOOD stands for:
Godly, Obedient to God, Observant of divine signs, and Devoted to serving the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully and honestly. Faithfulness and honesty – both are the cornerstones for building good things (Luke 16:10). May the Lord see me live out my “GOOD” as I follow Him.
The area in which I need to grow is my tolerance towards scheming people – for example, a false preacher on stage, or a believer pursuing their own glory rather than the Lord’s. I could be slower to anger, more willing to pray for them, and keener to offer my advice.
To sum up my good and bad: I endeavour to strive for inward renewal day by day, and whatever I do, I do it for the glory of God. Living with this conviction in my heart is itself a good thing to count.
