Daily Prompt

Do you practice religion?

Religion is defined as a structured system of faith, beliefs, and practices typically centered around the worship of a higher power or the pursuit of spiritual truth.  While some would say Christianity is a religion, I do not regard my faith in God as a religion.  I believe in God—“I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14), and the Almighty Creator of all is above all religions.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, is the Lord of Life.  My life’s values are rooted in Him.  I revere God by obeying His commandments and abiding in His guidance and providence.  I maintain communion with Him and develop fellowship with other believers.  As a Christian, I practise what the Lord’s disciples should do, faithfully abiding in His teachings.

Would today’s question prompt you to ask:

“Who has gone up to heaven and come down?  Whose hands have gathered up the wind?  Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak?  Who has established all the ends of the earth?  What is His name, and what is the name of His son?”—Proverbs 30:4

The ability to discern the Truth comes from wisdom—and Christ is Wisdom.  If you ever ask, Wisdom will guide you.
