Daily Prompt

List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

The first book is The Book of Genesis. It teaches me that in the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth, as well as all living things, including mankind. God showed His love through this creation, which was made for the good of humanity. When I look at the sky, I see God in His throne, and when I look down, I feel blessed with such grand nature that we all have to treat with care and respect. Here is my prayer of praise to God:

“Hymn of Praise”

How wondrous is Your creation —

First the world, then humanity.

In this vast cosmos, where do I stand?

Tiny as dust, seemingly insignificant,

Yet You treasure me as precious.

You gave Your only Son to cleanse our sin.

Your love remains unchanged through ages.

Joy fills my heart as all souls return to You.

Christ is the Alpha and the Omega —

All glory and praise to our God!

…….✨

The second is The Book of John — it draws me much closer to the Lord Jesus Christ, and through Him to a closer communion with the triune God. The Lord illuminates my way to follow Him wholeheartedly. My poem shows my understanding of and reverence for God. May it inspire you in seeking Him:

“A Wise Man”

Awesome is the sight of earth and heaven.

By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations.

By understanding He set the heavens in place.

By His knowledge the deeps were divided,

And clouds let drop the dew.

Who has gone up to heaven and come down?

Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of His hands?

Who has wrapped up the waters in His cloak?

Who has established all the ends of the earth?

What is His name,

And the name of His Son?

Holy is His name.

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom.

Blessed is the man who gains understanding.

…….✨

The third is The Book of Life — the metaphorical Lamb’s Book of Life in Revelation, which serves as a stronghold for eternal life, fuelling my aspiration to have my name written within it as the ultimate passport into the Kingdom of God. May my poem enlighten your path of life:

“Grace beyond Fantasy”

Life flies with time decade by decade.

Desire for fame is desire for flames.

Ageing eyes are friends of nature.

A heart that does not age is the friend of Almighty grace.

Ageing bodies are for ageing years.

Renewed hearts are for renewed souls.

Death follows the body from the day of birth.

Faith removes death — the promise of the Truth.

Graciously the Word travels with time.

One’s name in the Book of Life is the desire for all to see.

…….✨

Finally, may my poem help you see clearer the path of life:

“The Mystery of Life”

The sea is not life, yet it nurtures billions of living beings.

The earth is not life, yet it is inhabited by life.

Who can set the course for the wind,

Or give orders to the rain and dew?

Who sees to the ends of the earth, and observes the whole world?

The destiny humans cannot fathom,

Or the way they cannot comprehend —

Only Your living Word guides the path of life.
