What’s your top tip to be successful in life?
Failure is the mother of success—we know what “mother” means, but not everyone sees success on the same page. Even if we all agreed on a definition, success would still be counted differently in weight and level.
Success is highly personal: it could be a static milestone, the ultimate realisation of personal goals, or simply the alignment of your daily actions with your core values. Some may consider graduating with a good degree, climbing the career ladder, or buying a house as personal achievements. Yet buying a small house might feel like a triumph to an easily satisfied person, while appearing as a disappointment to someone with a bigger appetite.
In my own life, I have obtained multiple academic degrees, climbed high in my organisation, and purchased properties—yet true success, for me, is not found in any of these. Instead, it is a continuous journey of fulfillment, personal growth, and deepening relationships with the Triune God and with others.
Therefore, my top tip for success in life is to root your life deeply in faith—specifically, my faith in Jesus Christ, the Lord of Life. I stand in reverent awe of God’s Word, which is the word of life, a lamp for my feet and a light on my path (Psalm 119:105). That faith gives me perspective when I achieve, patience when I fail, and purpose beyond any possession or position.
