Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the Lord of my life, and I thank You! I do not forget the prayer in Gethsemane, I do not forget the salvation on the cross at Golgotha, and above all, I do not forget that God loves me and gave You to redeem me. I want to praise, glorify, and thank You with the life I live. I want to draw near to You, for when I draw near to You, You draw nearer to me. I want to draw nearer and nearer, to love You more, and to give up more for You. Many believers sing that they love the Lord and not themselves, that they forsake the world’s affections to love the Lord. Lord, if I sing this song but fail to live it out, I would be ashamed; if I sing it and truly live it, that would be my greatest joy. Whenever I come close to You, leaning on Your shoulder, I find complete rest. When You touch me with Your love, I am renewed in strength, my heart swells, and I press forward with vigour. The Lord causes me to lack nothing, and also causes me to love more deeply—to love others more and myself less. Lord, I thank You that through You I live abundantly, and that I may pass on love through love, without end.
The world often says that opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared. May they see that God is no respecter of persons—He gave His one and only Son to everyone, so that all may have the opportunity to hear the gospel, and each one may be saved through faith. Lord, You have saved me and given me new birth. May my new birth, together with all who are born anew in Christ, bear good witness for the Lord, so that the gospel is not merely words on a page, but living testimony after living testimony, fully demonstrating God’s great love and power in the lives of born-again Christians. If we are to accomplish this, it must be by the Spirit of God, for only then can it be done. We ask this in the Lord’s name; may God bring it to pass. Amen!
