What’s a book you think deserves a sequel?
Is there not already a book being written, chapter after chapter, year after year? The Book of Life—and the Bible proclaims that Jesus Christ, the Son of the Almighty Creator, is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
Within that Book, you and I occupy but a split-second space. And on our respective pages, the narrative unspools from the cradle to the grave. Yet for those in Christ, Scripture promises more—from the grave to resurrection, and from resurrection into eternity.
Though I am but a speck of dust in the cosmos, I am given a page to fill. Brief as it is, my page is neither blank nor bland, neither flat nor featureless. I have etched it with my ups and downs, my joys and sorrows, my conquests and failures—all of which trace the rugged landscape of a life hidden in Christ. By God’s grace, I strive to pass my faith to the next generation, to conclude my page with beauty, and to leave behind a fragrance pleasing to Him.
People come and go—night after night, day after day—until the book of this present heaven and earth is closed. Will my page deserve a sequel in the new heaven and the new earth? For that, I pray for grace.
So while you search for a book worthy of a sequel, may you not lose sight of your own book—and your own sequel. May this poem stir your reflections along the way.

✨ The Final Chapter ✨
Watch a play—first glimpse the final scene,
Yet he who does so misses life in motion.
Crave the sequel, the ever-lengthening thread,
And lose the truth the opening pages said.
Original? Or the continued art?
Life’s own version? Or the player’s part?
Bitter or sweet—all turns on what we sow,
Sown in a daze, reaped as we may know.
Neglect the plot, and you forsake the hour
That might have turned the ending to your power.
Original or sequel—what’s the claim?
The sower’s law decrees: the wise read through the frame—
Through every twist, they see the end unfold,
Not by the last act, but the story told.
