Daily Prompt

If you had to be an animal for a week, which one would you be and why?

If I had to be an animal for a week, I would be nothing other than the Lord’s sheep—because, as a Christian, I already am.

On earth, the Good Shepherd embraces me in daily care: unconditional provision, rest, healing, and guidance. I have lived to bear witness that His rod and staff defend and guide His flock through every difficult season (Psalm 23:1).

Throughout my career years, the Lord walked with me through challenges and even unjust treatment. After retirement, He guided me through my own illness and a medical accident—both of which deepened my faith and my conviction to serve the weak, whether hospital patients or vulnerable children. Over the past nine years of voluntary service, I have come to understand more deeply how God’s love and grace rest upon those who suffer, or who stand at life’s crossroads.

If you truly knew how blessed the Lord’s sheep are—both on earth and into eternity—you wouldn’t hesitate to make the same choice.

Graciously, Scripture tells us that the Good Shepherd has come to find His lost sheep——“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

May Scripture, together with this poem, shed light on the truth of the Good Shepherd—the only Choice for the world.

✨ Not One Lamb Less ✨

Ten fingers dance on ivory keys—

Yet music still flows if one should cease.

A hundred sheep within the fold,

Not one will He forget or hold less dear.

If heaven’s work were left to man,

Each soul would be another’s distant care.

But when mortal work was touched by heaven,

He gave His very life for all mankind.

The One who laid down His life for love—

That love was written before time began.
