What’s a quote that perfectly describes your outlook on life?
A Life Lived in the Light of His Word.
My life quote:
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night.”
— Psalm 1:1–2
—
This Scripture calls me to a life of holy distinction — not in arrogance, but in devotion. It reminds me that delighting in God’s Word is not a duty but a deep, quiet joy. Meditating on His truth day and night shapes my thoughts, my character, and my very breath.
From this meditation flows the first poem — a spiritual inventory of what to release and what to receive.

✨ Qi · The Play ✨
Haughty pride and arrogant air,
Wealth’s conceit and domineering glare —
These God detests; with care cast out,
Let none remain, let none hold sway.
Rage and spite, resentment’s feud,
Poisonous breath that sours the mood —
These God rejects; O heart, be still,
Let none remain in you today.
Kindly breath and peaceful tone,
Living zest and strength to own —
These God employs; O keep them bright,
Let them burn true along the way.
Spirit’s touch and fresh new dawn,
Blessings poured, a will reborn —
By grace divine, step into the play
That God Himself has drawn.

“For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, like men sentenced to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels and to men.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:9
—
This verse reminds me that I am not a casual observer in this life — I am a participant in a divine drama. Every step, every word, every breath is part of a story far greater than myself. And into that story, I step not in my own strength, but by His grace.
And what is my part in this play? To be His child. To live as one beloved, named, and called.

✨Named, Called, Alive ✨
Before I stirred in womb’s deep shade,
Your voice had whispered — I was made.
Grace is my name, its root in me —
“Little Hua” Mama sang with glee.
To Dad, I was “Hua Number Two,”
The neighbours teased, “Little baby, little you!”
A splash, a laugh, a hua-la-hua-la —
My childhood danced like soft rain’s song.
Through grace I grew, through love held tight,
Both firm and tender, strong and light.
Now this I pray with heart sincere:
A daughter good, to God held dear —
Not perfect, just a gentle child,
Still growing in His love so mild.

A Closing Reflection
The psalmist’s blessing is not a reward for perfection — it is a promise for those who seek. I do not walk perfectly. I do not always meditate faithfully. But I return. Again and again, I return to the Word that calls me beloved.
And so I live not in fear of falling, but in the quiet confidence of being held.
“Not perfect, just a gentle child, still growing in His love so mild.”
That is my life in a line.
That is my prayer in a breath.
That is who I am — named, called, alive, and His.
—
To the Father who accepts me as His child, be all the praise. ❣️
