God who loves the world,
I thank You! Lord Jesus Christ, I long for You. From ancient times until now, from sunrise to sunset, through pillars of fire and clouds, though You sit enthroned on high, Your eyes have never turned away from humanity—even when sin has fallen short of Your glory. Whether among the people chosen in Abraham, or those who have received the right to become Your children through Jesus Christ, You protect them all. As spring gives way to summer, and autumn draws near, year after year, I see Your love flowing forth without end, and Your mercy knows no limit. May those who belong to You look more upon the works of Your hands, and less upon the palaces made by human hands; listen more to Your holy word, and less to the flattery of men; be more concerned with Your will, and less consumed by selfish thoughts.
When Christ first came, He did not come to be an earthly king. He came in lowly flesh to die in place of sinners, to become the atoning sacrifice. O God, the salvation You have freely given—may those who live under this grace no longer receive it in vain. Let us not be mouths that speak only love yet fail to act in love, nor those who speak of righteousness yet do not practice it. O God, You do not look at outward appearance, but at the heart. May our outward lives and inward hearts be one, just as Your ways and Your will are one—evident among all who revere You. May we forever fear, love, thank, and praise You, and bear witness in our lives that You are our God—the one true God revealed in Scripture, known in our lives, the Triune God. May we, in Your kingdom and in Christ, all be sons who bring glory to You. This prayer we offer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
