What’s the weirdest coincidence you’ve ever experienced?
Ignorance is rooted in character, and character shapes destiny. Understand all things, and nothing will seem strange. Understanding springs from wisdom, and wisdom walks hand in hand with fate. Every life carries a purpose; only when you discover yours will you perceive what others overlook.
Faith opens the eyes to mysteries once hidden—destined for our glory before time began. As Scripture says: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived—the things God has prepared for those who love Him—these are revealed to us by His Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:7–15).
The spiritual person discerns all things. Consider me: I was given the name “Be grateful to God”—a name not originally mine. At four years old, I tasted my first deep wound, which drove me to ask: What is the purpose of life? Why am I here? In early childhood, I often dreamed I soared like an angel, guarding the poor and vulnerable. I also felt watched over by unseen eyes. All of this seemed strange—even to me at first. But as I matured in Christ, I came to see it as God’s handiwork, begun in me from the start.
Now I understand: those watchful eyes belonged to the angel guarding me; that early pain was meant to equip me to comfort others in their suffering; and that “supernatural” longing stirred in me a fierce resolve to build myself up for every good work.
Over the past decade, Ephesians 2:10 has grown vivid: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Through volunteer service and daily sharing the gospel with a global audience, I am continually shaped into Christ’s likeness.
Some non-Christian friends find this level of devotion fantastical—for they do not believe in God. Yet God is love. In Him, love transcends familiarity, relationship, or self-interest. For God’s children—whether poor or rich—doing good to strangers is not remarkable. It is simply natural. No weird coincidence at all.
May this poem broaden our understanding.

“The Weirdest Coincidence, or a Blessing from Above?”
Folly of character is ignorance of the heart,
Yet wisdom can turn the tide of fate.
The poor widow’s two small coins
Outweigh the rich man’s hoard of gold—
For one with nothing to give
May yet outgive the miserly lord:
Give with your face—greet the world with a smile.
Give with your words—speak life, praise, and comfort.
Give with your heart—be open, be true.
Give with your eyes—look kindly upon all.
Give with your hands—reach out and help.
The poor who do good are not strange.
What is strange is this:
You never thought it, never saw it, never heard it—
Simply because you did not believe.
