Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your children on earth live abundantly because of Your abundance. I thank You, Father, for Your loving care, and I thank You for watching over those whom I hold dear. Yet those I hold dear—are they not first held dear by You? And those I love and care for—are they not first loved and cared for by You? I pray that You would remember those who have heard Your name—that they may delight in the Scriptures, thirst for Your Word, come to know You deeply in their hearts, and see You with their own eyes in their daily lives. May they come to know You as the one and only true God—the triune God—holy, righteous, faithful, loving, and merciful.

May those who belong to Christ be established in holiness by God through faith, hope, and love. And may God grant wisdom, knowledge, and strength to those who belong to Christ, that they may love and do good, displaying through sincere and fervent actions that our God is the Creator of all things in the universe, and that love is of this God who loves the world.

Abba Father, the grace and peace You bestow—how could we ever predict them? I ask this in prayer, and in waiting I long to see You pour out even greater and more abundant grace, so that those who revere and love You may be blessed beyond measure and give glory to You. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
