If you had to switch lives with a fictional character for a week, who would you choose?
Having lived more than half a century, why would I trade lives with a fictional character? Am I not at peace with who I am? Or do I still crave occasional pleasures of the flesh? Or merely wish to escape, however briefly, an unbearable reality?
As a child, I was among those girls who dreamed of romantic encounters like Cinderella’s. But I never wished to be her. I wanted my life to be unique — not a copy of any fictional character.
Every person is created unique — even twins. Our fingerprints bear witness. If ever illusion strikes or the flesh desires, I ask the Holy Spirit to intervene — for God knows me inside out; even the hairs of my head are all numbered (Matthew 10:30). A mission impossible for me alone.
Today, I live in reverent awe of the Almighty Creator, following His precepts — not chasing the world’s wonderland but the divine promised land; not playing heroes like King David but humble servants like the Apostle Paul; not winning applause from people but pleasing God.
In Christ, I am real and unique — whether rich or poor, pretty or plain, healthy or sick. So not a week, not even a day, would I switch lives with any character. I pursue only a better me in Christ, day by day. I do not seek to shine on screen; I bear witness as a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men (1 Corinthians 4:9).

Three in One — the one true God,
and three are heaven, earth, and man.
How wondrous creation reveals the divine
when heaven, earth, and man breathe as one.
The Word took flesh and came in tenderness —
its own writer, its own director, its own lead.
Each soul performs the script it’s given;
the followers live, the defiant depart.
The curtain falls, the crowd dissolves, another play begins —
and oh, the stage was home all along.
Each one prepares for the play to come:
a new heaven, a new earth — all begins anew.
