What’s a place you visited that felt like home?
Home: Dwelling? Or Kingdom?
Home is deeply personal. For some, it is a place to nest, to heal, to rest, to shelter. For others, it is a place to hide, to vent anger, even to wound life itself.
To me, home is a safe harbour where I rest in peace; a place where my loved ones are; a sanctuary where my heart dwells and listens to the Holy Spirit.
Nine years ago, I travelled to Israel and felt at home — the promised land, the Zion where the LORD’s name dwells, rests, and is established forever (Psalm 132:13–14).
Yet the home I truly long for is where my Heavenly Father dwells — and through Jesus Christ, He dwells in me (John 14:23); a place where communion happens daily. When I meditate, I see Him enthroned on high, stooping down to look on the earth, raising the poor from the dust, lifting the needy from the ash heap (Psalm 113:4–7). The earth is not His home, but every heart He dwells in is.
Praise the LORD; praise the ultimate promised homeland where He dwells with the righteous.
May the poem below touch your heart and guide you to the place that feels like home.

“Home: Dwelling? Or Kingdom?”
Where is the home of Jerusalem?
Where is the kingdom of Zion?
Where are the ones who are coming home?
And where are the ones who bow?
The King of kings, enthroned above Zion;
The Lord of lords, enthroned in the temple;
Let all the peoples come and worship;
By faith, into the kingdom of the Beloved Son.
People won’t come, but Love Himself comes — to gather them —
The earth turns void, the heavens become real.
Come!
The grandest houses of the world are emptiness;
The Father’s house of wood is everlasting.
Come!
Let wisdom lead the way,
Seek the fellowship of the Holy One.
The dwellings of the world don’t draw me;
Your temple is my eternal home —
And mine, Yours.
