Do you believe in karma?
A simple answer to a simple question: I believe only in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). No one has ever seen God, but the One and Only Son, who is at the Father’s side, has made Him known (John 1:18).
Karma is an impersonal ledger—deeds earning their due. My hope rests elsewhere: not in a system that weighs me, but in a Saviour who knows me.
I have never seen Jesus in physical form, though many did some two thousand years ago. Even then, His own people believed only after witnessing miracles—they were the ones who had to see to believe. Yet blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed (John 20:24–29).
Because I believe in Him, I can believe in myself—not in my own strength, but because what I cannot do, He can (Matthew 19:26).
As I write, I gaze at the sky and see the full moon hanging near. Pictures of Mid-Autumn celebrations rise unbidden: today is Mid-Autumn Festival.
Its origins reach back thousands of years, when people sacrificed to the moon for abundance and prosperity. Chinese communities still celebrate with meals, mooncakes, and lanterns. The full moon’s round face suggests completeness and unity; the festival promises fortune and family solidarity. Many traditions fade, yet Mid-Autumn still shines in the digital age.
Who does not want abundance? But I believe in only one Way to completeness and eternity. Sacrificing to the moon? No. A full moon in the sky? No. Faith in Christ is—for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
Christians worship God in spirit and truth; there my faith rests. The moon can bless no one. But “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8).
The moon only reflects; it does not originate. So it is with every lesser light—it points beyond itself to the One who said, “I am the Light of the world” (John 8:12).
May these lines lead you to the One by whom you are truly blessed.
