What are five simple exercises to do at home?
Today’s daily prompt invites me to share five. I spy with my little eye something beginning with—what other bloggers may offer: physical exercise.
But what is the best home exercise to share? A healthy Tai Chi routine? Some physical health hacks? Or something greater than my little eye can spy?
Beyond physical exercise, my true anchors are spiritual (Ephesians 6:14–18). They are not merely a theory. To transform these anchors into daily practice—
Strengthening legs, bending knees — to bend the body, or to kneel down and pray to God to guide, provide, and protect.
Energising brain and heart — to meditate on the salvation of God and the abundance in Christ.
Stretching the muscles of the eyes — to gaze at the sky with reverence, at the throne of God.
Tightening the muscles of the lips — to honour God.
Liberating the hands — one hand open in surrender, the other carrying the gospel message across the globe.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, people have become far more health-conscious. Sales of healthy products are booming; Tai Chi exercise is everywhere in my city; and square dancing is a common sight across Chinese cities. Quite rightly so—without good health, there is no good life. But ultimately, only those in Christ may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10).
May you—ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door to eternity will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7).
