What are your strategies for SEO?
SEO: Hard Tool or Soft One?
In SEO, the user is king. In communication, the listener is. But when people are both, how can SEO serve both?
Optimising SEO for everyday business starts with search intent, not search content or volume. The question isn’t just what people search, but how much they need and why they’re searching at all.
This year marks my tenth as a volunteer chaplain visiting hospital patients. I apply SEO thinking not as a hard tool for technical fixes, but as a soft one for spontaneous dialogue—finding emotional connection in a split second.
When a confused patient needs direction, a connecting point matters. SEO cannot read a patient’s inner compass; neither can pre-programmed speech. But spiritual light helps unlock the heart.
SEO often gives a clear yes or no. In the hospital, I offer something different—a listening ear. I read inner voices, respond with words and comfort, and place patients under light through prayer to guide their next step.
SEO has many benefits. But I don’t connect patients to a product page like a blog post for a quick fix. No single fix relieves all entanglements. Most of the time, patients already know where they are—they simply want to be heard, to find relief from breathlessness.
With respect to SEO, spiritual care follows no engineered formula, no quick fix. It asks for a discerning heart, a humble ear, a gentle mouth. We are not there to persuade but to comfort; not to help patients pass through the Dragon Gate of success, but to raise them from their wounded spirit.
SEO fixes problems. Spiritual care tends to inner peace, beliefs, and emotional coping.
So I offer no SEO strategy here—only this hope: that designers and users alike might widen their horizon for how SEO can be used with heart.
